How many cars can I obtain through the iLease scheme?

You may apply for one car in your own name in any 12 month period.

I have an existing private car, what options do I have?

iLease can provide you with a purchase price for your existing vehicle. Please contact us for more information. Alternatively you can sell your existing car privately.

You may choose to keep your existing car and obtain a second car through the scheme for you or a family member.

If you have a vehicle on any other finance agreement you may be able to repay the outstanding finance early. Please contact your lender for more details.

Who is eligible to participate in the iLease scheme?

If your employer has signed up to the iLease personal contract hire leasing scheme, as an employee you are eligible for the scheme. Your family are also eligible: Grandfather/Grandmother, Grandson/Granddaughter, Father/Mother, Brother/Sister, Son/Daughter, Spouse/Partner, Uncle/Aunt, Nephew/Niece, Father-in-law/Mother-in-law, Step father/Step mother, Step son/Step daughter, Son-in-law/Daughter-in-law, Brother-in-law/Sister-in-law, Half brother/Half sister, Step brother/Step sister, Step Grandchildren and Half Niece/Nephew.

Choosing the right car

How many cars are available on the iLease scheme?

We offer cars from 26 different car manufacturers, including: Audi, BMW, Citroen, DS, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Land Rover, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Nissan, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, SEAT, Skoda, Smart, Suzuki, Tesla, Toyota, Vauxhall, Volkswagen and Volvo.

Should I choose a petrol or diesel car?

Some cars are only available as diesels but most manufacturers offer petrol and diesel engines. Hybrid models are also becomingly increasingly common and can be worth investigating especially if you do a lot of town driving.

Quotes

Are the quotes on your website negotiable?

No, the quote you receive from the online quotation system is fixed. The quotation is valid for 30 days.

Can the price change after I have accepted the quotation and placed the order?

Once you have placed your order, the quotation will be honoured for 4 months. However, this is subject to any in government legislation E.G. Road Fund Licence and VAT. iLease will let you know in plenty of time if there are any changes to the monthly payment.

Can I add optional extras to my vehicle order?

Yes, you can configure your new car exactly as you with by using the online quotation and order system. As a guide, if you add an optional extra the monthly payment will increase by the total cost of the option divided by the term. E.G. an option that is £500 divided by a 36 month agreement would be an additional £13.88 per month. For a full quotation with extras please contact us.

What are the different term durations I can choose from?

You can choose to take your car out on these different terms 24 months, 36 months, 48 months and 60 months. If you would like to take the Agreement for more than 48 months, please be advised of the maximum term 60 months and you will need to contact us directly for a quote.

What is the maximum mileage I can take under this Agreement?

The online tool allows you to quote from 6,000 up to 30,000 miles per annum. If you would like a quote for over 30,000 miles per annum please contact us directly.

Finance, Fees, Documents, Deposit & Payments

Do you charge fees?

No. There are no document fees, no delivery charges and no hidden costs.

Is there a deposit to pay?

You don’t have to pay a deposit. iLease is unique in that your agreement is based on an initial rental which is one times your regular monthly payment. This payment is taken within 7-10 days of delivery of your new car.

However, if you would like to reduce your monthly payments you can pay an initial larger payment of 3, 6 or 9 months of the monthly payment. This will also be your first payment.

What identification do I need to provide?

We will need to see a copy of your valid driving licence and in some instances we will also require a utility bill from the last three months, in your name at your current address.

How long will it take for my application to be approved?

It will take approximately 72 hours from when your application is submitted to reach an approval decision. This may take a little longer if additional information is required.

Why do I need to be approved for finance?

The Finance Provider is committed to making responsible lending decisions based on your own personal circumstances.

When will my payments be taken?

Your monthly payments after the initial payment are due on the same date the following month after you took delivery of your car, which becomes your Agreement start date.

The initial payment will be collected by direct debit from your bank account shortly after you have received your car and subsequent payments will be collected in the month following delivery and on the same date each month thereafter.

What does initial payment mean?

This is the first payment that is made 7-10 days after you have taken delivery of your new iLease car.

My Car Order

Can I amend my order?

Once you have chosen your new car and placed your order there is no guarantee that you will be able to amend it. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate any changes within the first two weeks, however you will be liable for any costs incurred as a result.

Can I cancel my order once it has been placed?

You have the right to cancel the agreement within 14 days starting from the day after the day on which you sign the agreement without giving any reason. This is known as the cooling off period. However, you will be liable for any costs incurred as a result.

Who do I need to tell if I want to cancel my order?

If you wish to cancel your order within the 14 days you must inform us at iLease of your decision by a clear written statement. We accept cancellations via letter sent by post and email.

Delivery

Do I have to collect my car from iLease or somewhere else?

No, we want to make receiving your new car as convenient as possible. iLease will arrange free delivery of your new car to your home, place of work or wherever is convenient to you.

How is delivery arranged for my new car?

Once the car has been built to your specification and is in the UK, iLease will contact you to arrange delivery to you at a convenient location.

Your new car will be delivered at least 15 days after your finance agreement has been signed by both parties.

Maintenance & Breakdown Cover

Should I choose Maintenance as part of my agreement?

Choosing maintenance as part of your agreement needs consideration based on your personal needs as well as the term and mileage chosen. However, we would recommend you do consider that maintenance can enhance the value of the vehicle when returned which can have a positive result on your rental.

What happens when my car needs a service?

If you have selected Maintenance as part of your agreement the cost of routine servicing is included. You will be provided with a service pack on delivery of your vehicle if you have chosen maintenance.

If you do not choose to take maintenance as part of your agreement, you will have to arrange for the car to be serviced at your cost in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Each vehicle varies, please refer to your vehicle’s manual or contact your local dealer.

What happens if my car needs new tyres?

If you have selected Maintenance as part of your agreement the cost of tyres is included, subject to certain conditions. Please refer to your service pack for further information.

If you do not have Maintenance then you will have to arrange for the tyres to be replaced at your cost.

If I select Maintenance will I have to pay more?

If you choose Maintenance, there will be an additional monthly cost which will be added to your monthly payment. The exact cost will depend on the make and model you choose and the term and mileage of the agreement.

What isn’t covered as part of the Maintenance provision?

Excessive wear or accidental damage will not be covered. For example, replacement tyres over a short period of time due to misuse, or replacement due to vandalism.

Other exclusions may also apply. Details available on request.

What level of breakdown cover is included?

All agreements with iLease include Breakdown Cover. You do not have to select Maintenance to benefit from this. Full details of Breakdown cover are available from the manufacturer you choose.

My Car Agreement

What does the agreement include?

The agreement includes annual Road Fund licence (road tax), breakdown assistance and optional maintenance, servicing and tyre replacement.

You must arrange your own motor insurance with appropriate cover for business use if applicable.

My car has been damaged. What should I do?

You should have your car repaired under your own motor insurance policy, or that of the third party if applicable, before returning. If there is unresolved damage when your car is returned, you will be invoiced for the cost of the repairs. Payment will be collected by direct debit.

You must also tell us about any accidental damage you have had repaired during the agreement.

Can I take my car abroad?

Yes, you can take your car abroad for up to 30 days at a time. You will need to call 0370 0120 301 option 8 at least 14 days before you travel to request a VE103 certificate, which gives you permission to take the car abroad. The certificate is valid for 12 months and the fee for this is £9.95 which is payable by credit or debit card.

Can I terminate my agreement early?

Yes, if you wish to terminate the Agreement early, please contact us and we will be able to provide you with a termination figure.

What happens at the end of the agreement?

At the end of your agreement you simply return your car and there will be nothing further to pay unless there is damage or excess mileage.

Any damage will be charged in accordance with BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear Guidelines and any excess mileage will be charged at rates shown in your Agreement.

You may have the option of purchasing the car at the end of the Agreement.

What happens if I leave my current employer?

As the Agreement is in your name, the monthly payment will continue to be taken until the end of the Agreement. You will not be eligible to order a replacement car though, unless your new employer is part of the iLease scheme.

Can I increase or decrease the mileage in my Agreement?

Yes, your finance provider may agree to amend the contract mileage if there are more than three monthly rentals remaining.

Can I extend the contract?

The contract duration can be extended to a maximum of 5 years (60 months) in total (subject to finance provider credit approval).
